Things I'm good at...

Feature writing

A non-award-winning journalist of the highest calibre, I write features, profile pieces and travel exploits for magazines and online publishers. From the fancy to the at-times dubious, my travel exploits engage, inspire and warn of the unfortunate consequences of panic attacks 6,000 ft in the air. Dripping with lyricism, imbued with warmth, hearty with superlatives and juicy with wonder, I give the joy of travel to every reader dreaming of their next escape. I specialise in transformative travel with my deep knowledge and understanding of the wellness industry as a Pilates + Yoga teacher, as well as equestrian and adventure travel.

I am the co-host of Graziher magazine's podcast, Life on the Land and have experience as a speaker for youth mental health for-purpose organisation, batyr and as a master of ceremonies at events.

Copy writing

Website need some sparkle? Blog need some writin'? Brochure need a seasoned, winking eyeball run over it? I write copy for a range of businesses, from the tech and agricultural space to health and wellness. A wearer of many hats, I can adjust to the precise voice and tone you're looking for; especially if the voice is that of a remarkably attractive, jubilant and disarmingly witty bard/joker. I'm your gal.

I also write for Georgie Robertson of The Regional PR Co - the queen of the country public relations.

Praise and kind-of-praise for Emily Herbert

"Emily Herbert is a wonder to work with. Last minute deadlines, left-of-field stories and tight turnarounds are no issue for her. Her ability to understand and perfect content for a brand's specific persona is both uncanny and amazingly helpful. An asset to our team, and any team, Emily is a professional writer whose writing nails the brief every time."

Claire Dunne, Graziher magazine founder and editor

"Emily Herbert started writing for Downtown Magazine in 2014, she has been with us since the connection of our mag, and for that I could not be more grateful. Em has given Downtown Magazine a certain kind of flair when it comes to its editorial content. Her writing is stylish, poised and encompasses its own personality and originality. It is a reflection of herself in every way. Em is a delight to have writing for our magazine; her articles never need editing and she always adheres to deadline. She is professional, creative and absolute pleasure to work with."

Anna Davies, Downtown magazine founder and editor

A gifted storyteller with a sharp analytical mind and strong contacts she is comfortable covering social, consumer, agricultural and political issues. An asset to any newsroom Emily thrives under pressure and has experience producing and presenting breaking news, including live coverage of natural disasters and emergencies. A popular and highly sought after master of ceremonies, Emily is a creative thinker capable of communicating with a wide range of target audiences and will add a touch of class to any conference or event."
